VIV Mini Poppy Outflow
The VIV Mini Poppy Outflow is designed for aquariums with fish and shrimp that prefer a mild current. Similar to the Mini Spin Outflow, this fixture creates gentle water movement for delicate species but the outflow itself its tilted upward so that the outflowing water gently agitates the surface for increased aeration, helping to dissolve more oxygen in the water. It also creates a flow pattern like a convection current - drawing stale water from the bottom of the tank to the surface to be aerated.
While they do agitate the water surface, these Poppy Pipes are far better at retaining CO2 in CO2 injected tanks than other aeration devices such as airstones or bubblers. If you have a high-tech planted tank but want to increase the oxygen concentration at the same time, these are a fantastic compromise and a great replacement for noisy air pumps that will push our far more CO2.
The Mini Poppy Outflow is designed for NANO tanks as the output stem curves backward to reduce its footprint in the aquarium. They are look great in even the smallest aquarium.
The Mini Poppy Outflow is only available in 13mm for 12/16 hoses. If you have 16/22 hoses with your aquarium canister filter, you can still easily use these with a converter such as our stainless steel conversion joint or quick release converter.
The Mini Poppy Outflow, like all VIV Mini series Lily Pipes are designed to be mounted freely, without suction cups. Nonetheless, they can still be used with dedicated mounting brackets or pipe clips with suctions cups.
All Mini Outflows are designed for rimless tanks. If your tank has a black plastic rim, you can still mount them but will need to file 15cm off of the protruding lip.
The total clearance over the rim is 12mm.
