Moss Dome
Now that Marimo Moss balls are no longer an option (due to the invasive Zebra Mussel larvae inside), make your own much cooler moss ball with this Moss Dome and some Java Moss (or Christmas Moss)!
Just place some moss between the center dome and the outer mesh, click it back together and place it wherever you want. The Moss Dome contains weights (that also double as additional biofiltration surface) to keep it submerged so it will stay put exactly where you put it.
In about a month or so, you'll have a fully moss ball in your aquarium (and no Zebra Mussels or Cladphora algae outbreaks). It makes for a really neat centerpiece or just a conversation starter.
The Moss Dome also works great with Dwarf Pearl Grass, Gratiola, HC Cuba, Riccia and even UG as well - each species will create a unique color, shape and texture to your "Moss" Dome. There's a lot to experiment with and it might just become your favorite 'plant'!
