Glass Planaria Trap
Planaria - otherwise know as "flatworms" are excellent hitchikers and are often found on Non Tissue Cultured plants that have been submerged in a vendor's tank. While they are mostly harmless to adult fish, they are carnivorious and will attack, kill and eat shrimplets, eggs, fry and even adult shrimp!
A few planaria can turn into a population explosion seemingly overnight so it is important to keep the population under control at all times.
These glass planaria traps are designed to lure in and trap planaria naturally so you can get rid of them or at least control the population without additives or chemicals that can be harmful to your plants, shrimp, fish and aquarium ecosystem.
Simply bait it inside (mysis, daphnia, dead fish, shrimp, meat, fish food etc), and place it at the bottom of your aquarium with the hole facing into the substrate. Planaria will start crawling toward it almost instantly!
The single hole design is excellent for catching planaria without accidentally trapping shrimplets.
Planaria like to feed at night so use these traps during the dark period for maximum effectiveness. You can also leave it in your tank since it's unobtrusive and wont catch anything larger than planaria or hydra.
Once you have planaria in the trap, take it out and do what you will with them.
